Nadin Heinich is a curator, author, entrepreneur, and founder of plan A. She is fascinated by cities in all their complexity, contradictions, and intensity. Born in 1980 in Leipzig and buoyed by the spirit of optimism after the fall of the Berlin Wall, she is particularly interested in Eastern Europe. Nadin studied architecture at the Technical University and University of the Arts in Berlin and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. In 2002 she worked in Moscow for the architectural magazine Project Russia, which was dedicated to the dialogue between East and West. As part of the “Germany – Land of Ideas” initiative, she was honoured as one of the 100 Women of Tomorrow.
In 2016 she founded the Architecture Matters conference to foster more dialogue between the different sides that shape cities – without fear of conflict. She launched the magazine Fast Forward in 2020.
Nadin is a frequent contributor to trade journals and newspapers such as Bauwelt and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and, as a guest editor, has overseen entire thematic sections in magazines. From 2020 to 2022, she was responsible for communications for ingenhoven associates. Nadin advises architecture and real estate firms and moderates discussions on architecture and urban development, from networking events to Expo Real.
